The well-known Sao Paulo-based Laboratory is the only audiovisual projects development laboratory in Brazil that receives projects from all regions of the country, the Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula and also from Italy. The Pop Up Film Residency BrLab Award will be chosen amongst the projects selected by BrLab that are in the development and financing phase.

𝗟𝗲𝘁í𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝗺õ𝗲𝘀 is a filmmaker, poet, and screenwriter. She has written for Filipa Reis & João Miller Guerra (𝘓é𝘨𝘶𝘢, Director’s Fortnight / Cannes 2023), José Filipe Costa (𝘗𝘢𝘪 𝘕𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘰, Rotterdam / 2025), Marcelo Gomes (𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘢 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦, Sheffield Fest / 2025), Hilton Lacerda (𝘍𝘪𝘮 𝘥𝘦 𝘍𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢 / best screenplay in Rio Intl’ Film Festival / 2019), among others.

In 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, Larissa, Vânia and Jéssica are three black single mothers living in Recife, northeastern Brazil. Along the way, they will discover that together, they can overcome the violence of everyday life in an unusual way.

𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲
𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲 is a screenwriter, director and novelist. She cowrote several feature films, including Nadav Lapid’s 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘴 (Golden Bear 2019). In 2016, she won the SACD Award at La Semaine de la Critique along with Davy Chou for the screenplay of 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥. Claire directed several short films (𝘓𝘦 𝘊𝘳𝘪 𝘥𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘢 and 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘴).
