Anohther round of joy as a new Pop Up Film Residence joins our network! This time, we’re taking writers to Batroun, Lebanon.
The location is breathtaking, with stunning Mediterranean beaches and a fascinating history. This captivating costal town makes an idyllic destination for filmmakers seeking inspiration and a tranquil setting.
Our host, Lebanese producer Myriam Sassine, has partnered with filmmakers Nicolas Khabbaz and Manon Nammour, and their brand new Fouha Boutique Hotel as the main venue for the residency.
The lucky first residents, writer/director Omar Elhamy and co-writer Mark Lofty, have arrived a week ago respectively from Montreal and Cairo to work on Omar’s feature debut project THE FIREHOUSE. Their residency’s mentor is script consultant Antoine Waked.
This is a Pop Up Film Residency in cooperation with the Doha Film Institute, and its scriptwriting program Hezayah.
