The Mermaid of Monterrey wins the Pop Up Film Residency Award at the BrLab 2021

The 2021 BrLab is over and we were happy to participate, meet the participating filmmakers and learn about their projects, and select one to win the Pop Up Film Residency Award. Again, it has been a head-spinning experience. 

We welcome The Mermaid of Monterrey by Marlene Grinberg, a fantastic story of  23-year-old Nina is a dancer at the Monterrey club in a small town in Southern Patagonia, who actually is a cannibal mermaid. 

The Argentinian-Mexican project is produced by Araquen Rodríguez of Pelicano Cine.
