The Slovak Pop Up is organized within a framework of the Pop Up Film Residency Bratislava, a residency & mentorship program based in Bratislava, and offers participants the unique opportunity to share experiences with our residents and to consult their projects with internationally respected tutors.
The Slovak Pop Up will take place in Bratislava from January – August 2022.
During this period six selected Slovak participants can benefit from the presence of the Pop Up Film Residents and their mentors.
There is no participation fee. Consultations are for free.
WHO CAN APPLY?
The Slovak Pop Up is open for Slovak film projects (fiction, documentary & animation) in any stage of development.
The program is open for filmmakers preparing their first feature as well as more experienced filmmakers.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Pop Up Film Residency Bratislava hosts international filmmakers selected in partnership with renowned industry programs & co-production forums who spend 3 weeks in Bratislava, developing their projects. The idea is to find a Slovak partner – project who can profit from the shared mentor and also exchange ideas with the resident.
It is a year-round project with an individual approach – only one international project at a time. Pop Up Film Residency doesn`t work on preset schedules and preselected mentors. Both are set to fit the project & resident.

HOW TO APPLY – REQUIRED MATERIALS
– short synopsis & treatment or introduction of the project (max. 10 pages)
– intention note / explication (max. 3 pages)
– biography with links to previous works
– motivation letter or video – tell us more about the current stage of your project, what are your next steps, and what are your expectations from Slovak Pop Up
