It is with great pleasure and honour that we announce the new partnership with Asia’s most important and influential film festival Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
Founded in 1996, Busan International Film Festival promptly became Asia’s film event with a substantial impact on the industry. Since 1998, the festival organises Pusan Promotion Plan, later transformed into Asian Project Market (APM), the oldest co-production platform in Asia.
As of 2021, the South-Korean film hub Busan International Film Festival and Pop Up Film Residency partner up, providing yet another filmmaker with an opportunity to develop their project in a tailor-made residency.
The 26 the BIFF takes place 6 – 15 October, with the APM organised online 12 – 14 October and presenting 25 projects and for the first time, Pop Up Film Residency will present one of the participating filmmakers with the Pop Up Film Award – a tailor-made 3-week long residency in Europe, hosted by an experienced film professional, with a mentor selected specifically to meet the needs of the filmmaker and the project.
