Warsaw, Poland

Warsaw, the dynamic capital of Poland, is a city of contrasts—where history and modernity collide in an ever-evolving cultural landscape. Once nearly destroyed during World War II, the city has been meticulously rebuilt, blending historic charm with contemporary architecture. The Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as a testament to resilience, while the modern skyline reflects Warsaw’s growing status as a hub for creativity and innovation. Known for its thriving film and theater scene, the city has produced some of Poland’s most influential directors, writers, and artists. Its rich literary heritage, underground artistic movements, and deep-rooted storytelling traditions make it an inspiring space for screenwriters and filmmakers seeking new perspectives.

With a flourishing creative community and a strong network of industry professionals, Warsaw has become a key center for film development in Central Europe. The city is home to major film festivals, production studios, and organizations that support emerging talent, making it an ideal location for the Pop Up Residency hosted by Iza Igel. Her expertise, combined with Warsaw’s unique creative energy, provides a stimulating environment where participants can refine their projects, connect with local and international industry figures, and immerse themselves in a city that continuously reinvents itself while staying deeply connected to its history and artistic legacy.
