The Madh and Alibag Residence

Set in the western coast of India, the Madh and Alibag Residence offers a mix of landscapes – the beating-heart city of Mumbai and the quiet expanse of the coast.

At the far western edge of Mumbai, past the city’s ever-widening roads, sprawling skyline and unceasing crowd, Madh stands apart —an island facing the Arabian Sea. Though a part of Mumbai, it moves to a different rhythm.  The residency begins here. The residence is a beautiful apartment part of an expansive residential complex that houses predominantly people from the Mumbai film industry.

From there, the residency shifts base across the water to Alibag, a coastal town known for its long shorelines, dense groves, and unhurried atmosphere. Surrounded by the sea, open land, and minimal distraction, the landscape naturally encourages immersion, focus, and a deeper engagement with one’s work. The residence here is a cozy apartment, nestled within a holiday-villa-complex.

The confluence of these two geographies is central to the experience: from the energy and cultural density of the city to the stillness and clarity of the coast. Together, they create a setting where filmmakers can step away from noise, reconnect with their instincts, and spend uninterrupted time with their stories.
