Past residents include Finnish filmmaker Jenni Toivoniemi, Serbian/Romanian director Ivana Mladenovic, and Lithuanian director Lina Luzyte, whose projects have reached completion or are in advanced stages of development.

A Global Jury of Visionary Women Filmmakers

The highlight of the 2024 edition is the distinguished jury of internationally renowned women filmmakers, who have been entrusted with selecting this year’s resident. The jury reflects the residency’s commitment to fostering diversity and championing women’s voices in the film industry.

This year’s panel includes:

  • Marianne Khoury, a celebrated Egyptian film producer and festival director, known for her pivotal role in promoting Arab cinema and her extensive contributions to the Middle Eastern and North African film industries.
  • Rachel Daisy Ellis, a Brazilian/British film producer renowned for her work in independent cinema, with films that have gained global recognition for their unique storytelling.
  • Kamila Andini, an award-winning Indonesian filmmaker whose work explores themes of culture, tradition, and women’s experiences, showcased at top international film festivals.

The selection of this accomplished jury underscores the residency’s mission to create a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, while nurturing diverse voices in filmmaking.

The resident selected for the 2024 edition will have the opportunity to develop their feature film project in a nurturing, collaborative setting, with the guidance of industry veterans.
