Pop Up Film Residency Projeto Paradiso 2024
Carolina Markowicz for “The Funeral” (Brazil)
We are delighted to welcome Carolina Markowicz as the recipient of the Pop Up Film Residency Projeto Paradiso 2024. Carolina, a Brazilian filmmaker, is developing her third feature film, “The Funeral.” This project offers a tragicomic exploration of an upper-class family in São Paulo, Brazil. The narrative delves into the dynamics of succession amid a politically correct façade, revealing the blatant hypocrisies and power struggles that bring raw human truths to the surface.
Carolina Markowicz, an alumna of Tatino Films, previously participated in First Cut Lab with her debut feature “Charcoal.” She will be hosted by Romanian producer Ada Solomon in Bucharest in September 2024. This residency is made possible through our cooperation with Projeto Paradiso.
